Saturday AM

Ride start is from the Winter Springs Town Center in the parking lot opposite Tijuana Flats.

If you drive in, park behind Tijuana Flats so you can return after the ride, pack up your bike, and then join us at the tables outside for fun and conversation.  Some say this is the best part of the ride!

All rides are preceded by a safety and ride briefing presented by the ride leaders so be sure to arrive on time.

For most Saturdays we have three to four groups rolling out

A Group

(This ride is for experienced riders only, and must be able to pull at 24 mph, with ride leader)
52 OR 65 miles
Pace 24+ mph
Rolls out at 7:00 am OR 7:15 am depending upon distance.

Our 52-mile route takes us out and down 434 at a brisk warm-up pace of 22/23mph.  We proceed to Florida Ave, Lockwood, then out to 419, after which we’ll pick up Snowhill Road and head out to the scenic farmland around Fort Christmas.  Once we’re on Fort Christmas Road, the pace picks up to 24/25, and then, when we’re about two miles from the Fort, the sprinters begin to gear up.  A final sprint to the Fort follows, then a nice recovery, bathroom, and water break.  Our return route takes us down to Highway 50, then looping back around.  We take Lake Pickett and Tanner Roads on the way back.  Then Lockwood, returning the same way we came.  The 65 mile route has us heading farther out via Taylor Creek to 520/528 after we take our break at the Fort, otherwise, it’s the same course.

Occasionally, we will offer a 42 mile A ride to allow B+ riders to test their skills with the A group.  These rides will be announced in advance.
